Today, artist JR unveiled more than 4,000 black-and-white portraits pasted onto the walls and floor of the Panthéon, a historic building in Paris.

This massive installation highlights the Panthéon’s restoration work, currently one of largest restoration projects in Europe. (It’s expected to take up to ten years to complete!)

JR has a bunch of projects like this one — he pastes portraits of local people in public spaces all over the world. To learn more, check out the Inside Out Project and watch his TED Talk here »
